termite-inspectionsTermite Inspections – What To Expect

For home owners, termite inspections are a crucial step in protecting your most important investment.  Termite colonies can often go unnoticed in a house for five years or more before any sign of infestation is apparent. By then the damage can be significant.

When you call us for a termite inspection one of our representatives will take down your details and schedule a window during the day when you be at home. We perform termite inspections in Los Angeles, San Diego, and Orange County.

The representative performing your termite inspection will be easily identifiable by his clothing, business card and decal on his vehicle.

During the termite inspection which may last from 1 to 1.5 hours, our inspector will require access to your garage, attic, crawl-space under the building, balcony/patio and other rooms in the house.

He will methodically examine your structure inside and out, write a written inspection report, and then help you select the most appropriate treatment for your structure. Depending on the extent of your infestation, he will leave a no-obligation estimate for either localized treatments or termite fumigation using a tent.

What Does a Termite Inspection Cost

A termite inspection is free except for homes in escrow and short sales.

Unlike many of our competitors, we do NOT add a fee for crawl space inspections.

Signs of Termites

There are three termite species that infest California. These are the subterranean (which is common worldwide); the California drywood; and the Pacific dampwood.

Small beige, brown, or black droppings indicate drywood or dampwood termite presence, whereas brown mud tubes or tunnels are evidence of subterranean termite infestation. When termites swarm, you may also see their wings around window sills and floorboards.

If you discover any of these signs of termite infestation, call Hi-Tech for a professional termite inspection at : 877.445.0437
Your Hi-Tech inspector is licensed by the California Structural Pest Control Board.

He will methodically examine your structure inside and out, write a written termite inspection report, and then help you select the appropriate treatment for your house or structure. He will leave a no-obligation estimate for either a full-structure tent fumigation or a secondary treatment.

They can’t hide!

In areas where evidence is found leading into walls, small holes are drilled in walls to locate the presence and the species of termites with a special fiber-optic wall scope. All holes are carefully patched afterwards.
