Killing Termites With Microwave Technology

May 29, 2013by

Microwave technology for termite extermination has been in use for over 25 years. Hi-Tech’s clean and efficient microwave technology, was tested in 1993 by the state of California and had a 97.4% efficacy rate on the structure that was treated. Since that time, we have continued to upgrade and improve our technology. In 2012, we were happy to release our latest state-registered model, the XTerminator 4.0™.

Microwave technology requires:

  • NO tenting
  • NO moving
  • NO removal of plants, plastics, or furs
  • NO removal of food, cosmetics, or medications

Better yet…

  • NO landscaping or roof damage
  • NO disconnecting computer, security systems or antennas
  • NO special tree or shrub trimming

How It Works

Simply stated, microwave energy converts to heat that kills termites infesting the wood. Heat is generated by a magnetron mounted on a tripod for easy access to wall voids. The magnatron’s funnel-shaped wave guide directs microwaves to the infested area, penetrating the wood and killing termites.

Killing drywood and dampwood termites using Hi-Tech’s innovative microwave technology, in conjunction with state-approved chemicals like Termidor® and Premise, is a clean, low toxic, efficient solution. This could be the perfect answer for your termite problem.

Whether Hi-Tech fumigates or uses the microwave system, our two-year, full-structure service contract is the same. Based upon the nature and extent of termite infestation, Hi-Tech’s advanced technology could be the answer to your termite problems. We provide termite control services for our neighbors throughout Southern California, including those in Los Angeles, San Diego, and Orange County — call today to get started!
